DCTV is a nonprofit media center based in New York City with a history spanning more than five decades and eighteen Emmy Awards. It centers on documentary storytelling, media literacy, and community empowerment, supporting storytellers from their first camera moment to their first screening and beyond. Housed in a historic firehouse dating from 1895 in the Chinatown/Tribeca area, the organization provides ongoing access to training, storytelling opportunities, and public platforms. It serves New York City youth through free programs for ages 13–24, alongside affordable continuing education and Firehouse Cinema, the city’s nonprofit documentary theater.
