Detroit Regional Dollars for Scholars is a private nonprofit scholarship program operating in Southeast Michigan and is an affiliate of Scholarship America, founded in 1990 and headquartered at 100 Renaissance Center, Detroit, Michigan. It employs between 11 and 50 people and operates in the philanthropic fundraising services industry. The organization collaborates with 16 high school partners across Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, Washtenaw, and Wayne counties to prepare students for postsecondary success from 10th grade onward, offering experiences, knowledge, and resources such as tailored campus visits, postsecondary application assistance, leadership and networking opportunities, FAFSA completion, and SAT test preparation. After three years of participation, each student receives a $4,000 scholarship to help defray postsecondary costs, with coaching and networking events supporting ongoing success. Support comes from across Southeast Michigan, including community members, schools, local businesses, corporations, and foundations.
