Deutsche Funkturm develops and operates radio infrastructure across Germany for mobile operators, broadcasters, radio-relay networks, and government communications. As a full-service provider, it acquires, plans, builds, operates, and markets sites such as towers, masts, rooftop installations, distributed antenna systems, and small cells, with a current emphasis on LTE and 5G. It maintains a nationwide footprint and is the largest operator of radio infrastructure in Germany, with a portfolio of around 34,600 antenna sites, and is based in Leverkusen, North Rhine-Westphalia, with its headquarters in Münster. Founded in 2002 as a Deutsche Telekom subsidiary, the company has since welcomed DigitalBridge and Brookfield as shareholders from 2023. It played a central role in the European Aviation Network, coordinating the ground network with about 300 transmitting stations across 30 European countries, and in 2025 announced the deployment of NEXSYS-ONE software for its operations.
