Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe (Diakonie Emergency Aid – DKH), a Germany-based international NGO, has been providing humanitarian aid since 1954. We support: People, who have fallen victims to natural disasters, war and forced displacement. We assist those unable to recover from shocks without any form of external assistance. We are committed to supporting people in need in forgotten crises that receive little to no public attention. Our partners: We usually work with partner organisations from the respective country and are a member of the worldwide church humanitarian assistance network ACT Alliance with over 140 organisations. This means we are already on the ground when disasters strike. Our principles: Respecting human dignity is our overriding principle. Our humanitarian assistance is targeted to meet the needs of those affected. We work according to internationally recognised standards and principles such as the humanitarian principles, the Red Cross/Red Crescent Code of Conduct, SPHERE or Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS). Our promise: We provide assistance to those most in need, irrespective of religion, race, gender or nationality – in a quick, pragmatic, reliable and effective manner. We stay as long as necessary.
