Mourvèdre and Semillon. Dirty and Rowdy Family Wine Company- A microscopic wine producer of single vineyard Mourvèdre(s) and Semillon located in Calistoga, CA. For 2011 we were just 12 barrels, a concrete egg, and 2 people. We make single vineyard Mourvèdre wines from radically different vineyards- the weird side of Santa Barbara County and the stony hills of Amador County, and a skin and egg fermented Semillon that is from a town more known for Michelin stars vs. skin fermented white wines. Our goal is to have minimal influence in the winemaking, but still remain high contact- Treading by foot 1-2x a day and by gaining as much from what we feel in our toes as we do from numbers from the lab. To be honest, we still really don’t know what the hell we are doing-- but this is the most fun we’ve ever had.
