Located in Epworth, Iowa, Divine Word College is the only Roman Catholic undergraduate seminary in the United States dedicated to educating men and women for missionary service. It is owned and operated by the Society of the Divine Word (SVD), the largest missionary order of priests and brothers in the Roman Catholic Church.

Students attending Divine Word College live in an environment that enables them to make a firm, personal decision to commit themselves to a life formed after Jesus Christ. More specifically, this would be in the form of becoming a priest or brother in the Society of the Divine Word or ongoing formation as a male or female religious, diocesan seminarian/priest, or lay person preparing to pursue missionary ministry. 

DWC combines a liberal arts education with spiritual formation and mission preparation. The college also offers a certified and well-established English as a Second Language (ESL) program through its Intensive English Language Institute. 
The Society of the Divine Word was founded in Steyl, Netherlands in 1875. Today, there are more than 6,000 Divine Word Missionaries working in more than 80 countries.
