Doherty Ornamental Iron, Inc. was established in 1959 as a fabricator of porch, balcony and pool railings by James Doherty. As demand grew in the early 1970s, so did our scope. Expanding into full structural steel fabrication and erection, from supply to installation. Structural steel became the foundation of our work, leading to officially becoming Doherty Steel, Inc. in 2006. A name that reflects our growth, grit, and commitment to building stronger futures.
 
We’re a family owned AISC-certified structural and miscellaneous steel fabricator and erector, based in Paola, KS proudly serving KC and the Midwest - including Missouri, Colorado, Iowa, Oklahoma, and Nebraska. Trusted by nationally recognized general contractors and driven by legacy, Doherty Steel continues to grow and build projects across the Midwest.
