The Down Syndrome Association of Minnesota is a nonprofit organization that serves people with Down syndrome, their families, and their broader communities by providing information, resources, and practical support. It operates within the civic and social organizations sector and is based in St. Paul, Minnesota. The association counts roughly 3,000 members, including more than 900 individuals with Down syndrome and a network of families and professionals in health care, education, and development. It is the region’s only organization devoted exclusively to meeting the needs of people with Down syndrome and their families. A small staff supports its operations, funded through memberships, private and corporate donations, and fundraising events, and as a result, its services are available to members across Minnesota and neighboring states at no cost. It maintains affiliations with national bodies focused on Down syndrome, including the National Down Syndrome Congress, the National Down Syndrome Society, and PACER.
