The Down Town Association is a member owned social club dedicated to providing our members and guests with the finest hospitality. A New York City Landmark, the Down Town Association's Clubhouse is one of New York's finest examples of Romanesque Revival design as well as the third oldest purpose built club building in the United States. The DTA was founded in 1859 by New York's leading men of business as a quiet place to dine, read, socialize and relax. We have been at our Clubhouse since 1887 with additions in 1902 and 1910. Having started as a luncheon club we are now a full service social club open fully to both men and women. Members have access to a gracious and historic and well-appointed Clubhouse. Members may also choose to host a private event in one of our well appointed private dining or meeting rooms. Members may use the Reading Room for remote working during the day and relax in the Members Bar with a craft cocktail after work. The Game Room is available for billiards, backgammon or cards. The Clubhouse has 19,000 sq ft of private dining space spread over four floors. Our private dining rooms can seat 10-175 for lunch or dinner and more for conferences.
