Drexel University College of Medicine is the result of the consolidation of Hahnemann Medical College and Woman’s Medical College of Pennsylvania, two early American medical schools established in 1848 and 1850. Based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, it operates within Drexel University and educates about 1 in 78 allopathic medical students in the United States. The college trains more than 1,200 medical students and roughly 750 graduate students, supported by around 2,100 faculty across local and regional campuses. Its academic footprint extends across multiple campuses where clerkships and research training occur. In 2026, the college was noted to be developing a three-year Doctor of Medicine program.
