The Duke Clinical Research Institute is an academic clinical research organization embedded in Duke University School of Medicine, combining practicing physicians' expertise with the operational capacity of a major CRO. It designs and conducts innovative clinical trials across all phases, from early development to post-approval analyses and health economics, with the aim of improving health outcomes and the quality of care. Based in Durham, North Carolina, the institute coordinates multinational trials and national patient registries and disseminates findings through high-impact publications and global meetings. Since 1996, DCRI's faculty and staff have produced more than 17,500 peer-reviewed publications and have been cited in more than 760,500 scientific articles. In 2026, the institute announced a three-year partnership with CardioVascular Clinical Trialists to establish a clear pathway to regulatory and clinical acceptance of cardiovascular prevention therapies.
