Its approach centers on strong academics delivered through personalized learning, supported by engaged campus leaders, a stable administrative team, and modern facilities in a small-town setting near downtown Fort Worth. The district provides a range of programs to support the regular curriculum and students with special needs, including a school of choice for at-risk learners at Elmer C. Watson High School and career pathways at the Sarah Hollenstein Career and Technology Center that let students pursue licensures and certifications through project-based learning. EMS ISD emphasizes attracting and retaining qualified staff, offering competitive pay, opportunities for professional development, and an award-winning on-site childcare program at the Weldon Hafley Development Center for eligible employees. In 2025 the district announced the appointment of Dwayne Jones as Executive Director of Operations.
