At Eastleigh Borough Council we're proud of what we have achieved. As a medium-sized district council in Hampshire, with a net revenue budget of £10 million and big ambitions, we have delivered a large number of major projects and initiatives, ensuring we continue to be progressive and innovative in our approach. The Council’s record of delivering excellent services was recognised when we were named Council of Year 2022 by the Association for Public Service Excellence (APSE). Our overarching mission is “supporting communities and improving lives” and it is this ethos which has enabled us to think differently and take a different approach. The Council currently employs around 500 professional staff at various sites and serves around 136,000 residents, as well as a diverse range of businesses. Our corporate priorities are themed around: o Shaping Places o A Healthier Eastleigh o Protecting our Environment o Creating Homes and Communities Our housing self-delivery programme is already one of the biggest in the country. However, the Council is committed to undertaking more, and is now also developing a 355-acre sustainable community and housing development at One Horton Heath. The development will deliver up to 2,500 new sustainable homes with an ‘infrastructure first’ approach.
