EdChoice is a nonprofit, nonpartisan think tank focused on advancing comprehensive educational choice as a pathway to stronger communities. It argues that families should decide K-12 schooling rather than bureaucrats, and it works at the state level to educate audiences, train advocates, and engage policymakers on high-quality school choice programs. It is based in Indianapolis, Indiana. Founded in 1996 as the Friedman Foundation for Educational Choice, EdChoice reflects the intellectual legacy of Milton and Rose Friedman. In 2024, the organization launched the K-12 School Choice Calculator to help policymakers and other stakeholders understand the potential fiscal effects of school choice programs on taxpayers and public-school districts.
