The Educational Theatre Association (EdTA) is a national nonprofit organization focused on advancing theatre education. It supports a core community of students and professionals by recognizing achievement, providing professional development and resources for teachers, and aiming to shape public opinion on the value of theatre education for developing life skills. The association operates the International Thespian Society, an honorary group inducting millions of theatre students since 1929, and publishes a professional magazine for theatre educators and a student-focused magazine for high school theatre participants. Based in the Cincinnati area, EdTA serves the education and arts communities through its programs and its philanthropic arm, the Educational Theatre Foundation.
