The Energy Collective is a global retail energy and technology business. Electric Kiwi is the New Zealand brand of The Energy Collective, using smart technology to bring New Zealanders low everyday electricity prices. 

Part of a new generation of online power retailers, Electric Kiwi launched to the public in May 2015 with the aim to make power cheaper, smarter and easy to manage for Kiwis. 

We started out by custom-building our systems from scratch to ensure they were super-efficient and able to maximise the benefits of new technology. We took all aspects of our business online, and then began creating ways for our customers to benefit every day from the extra information provided by their smart meter. 

Electric Kiwi also offers every customer our 'Hour of Power'​, a free daily 60 minutes of power. This helps our customers to boost their savings even further, simply by shifting some of their power use to a selected off-peak hour each day. 

We're part-owned by a small team of young entrepreneurs who saw an opportunity to combine their expertise in technology and the energy sector. With backing from global energy investors who share our vision, we plan to keep the big power retailers on their toes by innovating and driving competition in the market.
