Emergent Campus is a rural innovation and workforce-development nonprofit focused on expanding economic opportunity in Southern Colorado. It repurposes historic school buildings into hubs that offer a coworking space, business support, professional development, and hands-on learning opportunities for students and adults. Through partnerships with local schools, community colleges, industry leaders, and statewide tech organizations, it delivers career pathways, training programs, entrepreneurial support, and job-placement initiatives designed to keep talent local. It is based in Florence, Colorado, operating out of the Historic Florence High School, which received a 2024 Colorado State Historic Preservation award. In recent years, Emergent Campus has broadened its network by partnering with regional education and economic development entities, including Trinidad State College and Fremont Economic Development Corporation, to bring incubator and training initiatives to other rural communities.
