Environmental Management of KC, LLC (EMI) was founded in 1997 in Kansas City, Kansas. The purpose of EMI is to meet the needs of the utility industry and associated industries in handling their used, non-hazardous transformer oil. Instead of utilities viewing their used oil as a costly waste, EMI has changed the dynamics of this waste into a positive dollar commodity for the generator. At the same time, EMI has allowed the generator to reduce their carbon footprint by recycling the used oil for future reuse.

The oil is processed through a state of the art facility, allowing quick turnaround and multiple back end oil products for purchase. Uses can range in many different industries including the utility industry as transformer oil.

The EMI team prides itself with second to none service ability. With the buy in from the office staff, operations, drivers, sales, and management team, the customer is the most important piece of the puzzle. The company owned fleet has the capacity to move up to 6800 gallons per truck load as well as an entire fleet of rail options.
