Emma's Torch is a Brooklyn-based nonprofit that trains refugees, asylees, and survivors of human trafficking in the culinary arts to support their entry into meaningful careers in the culinary industry. It operates a full-time paid training program that also emphasizes language development, social connection, and personal fulfillment, alongside a community for participants. Since its founding in 2016, the organization opened its first permanent Brooklyn restaurant in 2018 and has since expanded with a cafe in Washington, DC, and a cafe at the Brooklyn Public Library. In November 2025 it announced plans to expand to Silver Spring, Maryland, opening a flagship Culinary Training Center there.
