“Energy Towers” is a technology that uses dry, warm air to produce vertical wind from which electrical power can be produced 24 hours a day all year around. 

The technology is based on a well-known physical principle:  hot air rises and cold air falls.  It can produce massive amounts of energy from an unlimited fuel supply:  hot, dry air and sea water.  

A tall, large-diameter chimney is built in a hot and dry zone. Water (preferably salt water from the sea) is pumped up to the tower top and a fine mist is sprayed into the shaft.  As the water falls, it partially evaporates, and thus cools the air. The cooler air is denser and falls.  If the chimney is tall enough, the falling air reaches a speed of up to 50 miles an hour. The larger the chimney’s diameter, the more the airflow increases. This air comes out through openings at the bottom of the chimney, moving turbines and electricity generators. 

In effect, the chimney is a controlled vertical wind-making machine.  It triggers the well-known natural phenomenon which is often called “wind shear” and encloses it inside a tall cylindrical shaft.
