ERG Africa serves as the Africa-focused arm of Eurasian Resources Group, a diversified natural resources company with a global footprint. It oversees ERG’s mining and development activities on the African continent, coordinating assets across the Democratic Republic of the Congo and development projects in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Mali. The organization is based in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa, and maintains a sizeable regional workforce. In this role, ERG Africa coordinates the group’s operations across multiple mineral sectors and development stages on the continent. In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, ERG Africa mines and processes copper and cobalt ore and produces copper and cobalt hydroxide, with major assets including Frontier mine and Metalkol Roan Tailings Reclamation. Metalkol RTR has become the world’s second largest standalone cobalt producer and is also a large copper producer. The development portfolio further spans South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Mali, with projects covering PGMs, fluorspar, manganese, bauxite and coal. SABOT, a cross-border road haulier, is part of its operations. A recent development is the signing of a memorandum of understanding in February 2026 with Entreprise Générale du Cobalt to formalise responsible artisanal mining in the DRC.
