Essential History Expeditions develops and conducts vibrant, memorable historical and cultural expeditions worldwide to educate and inform our EHE guests. Every Essential History Expeditions tour focuses on learning and growth. Following each expedition, guests will be informed, enlightened and challenged. They will experience an essential moment in time they can relate to the context of what came before, what transpired around it and what resulted after. The focus on learning drives the interaction between and among the guests and Dr. DeToy. Meanwhile, the social nature of EHE expeditions means every guest is made to feel a valued part of the enterprise. The bonding opportunities are boundless and the overall experience is perfect for family, friends and reunion groups large and small. While the expedition topics and focus are serious, the sense of adventure and enjoyment in learning remains paramount. Some of the all-inclusive, high-end expeditions include exploring the beaches and fields of Normandy to see where the Greatest Generation landed in a massive, in both scale and importance, invasion that changed World War Two; the battles of Antietam and Gettysburg, where our Civil War found its Crucible of Freedom; Appomattox and Washington DC, to examine Abraham Lincoln and the end of the Civil War; and Cuba, where we explore this fascinating island nation that has been off-limits to Americans for decades.
