Based in Central Pennsylvania, Esterline Research & Design is an electrical engineering design firm with an emphasis in the frequency control industry.  Focusing on the design and manufacture of high precision environmental test systems, targeting RF and frequency control applications. 

Engineers John Esterline, Al Snavely and Terry Hitt, together have a combined 70 years experience.  Responsible for US patents (no.8,188,800, and no.8,525,607) and several published IEEE conference papers and trade magazine publications, the team's primary interests are improvement of embedded time bases, including all aspects of design, manufacture, and testing.

We also offer consulting services in the following areas of expertise:
Frequency Control
Provide assistance for creation and evaluation of timebase / crystal oscillator specifications to ensure that the clients system has a signal source fit for purpose.

Help clients create appropriate screening procedures for various timebases/oscillators.
Deliver troubleshooting support to fix client system issues resulting from timebase / crystal oscillator defects, such as microjumps, poor phase noise, excessive Allan deviation/variance, temperature stability non compliance, excessive aging, shock and vibration effects, etc.

Create timebase / crystal oscillator design for clients that wish to implement their own embeddable time base such as, XO, VCXO, TCXO, and OCXO’s

Test and Automation
Design and provide customized testing solutions for client applications

RF Circuit Design/PCB Layout
Provide RF circuit design for client applications such as crystal oscillators, Phase Locked Loops (PLL), multipliers, dividers, mixers, down converters, etc.

Ceramic Substrate/Package Design
Customized solutions for clients requiring ceramic substrates and/or multilayer ceramic packages, based on applications environmental requirements.
