Estimize operates an open platform that collects forward-looking earnings estimates from independent analysts, buy-side and sell-side professionals, private investors, and academics. By drawing on a diverse contributor base, it provides a timely and representative view of market expectations, covering more than 2,200 stocks and 80 economic indicators each quarter, with the consensus shown to outperform comparable sell-side data sets in more than 70% of comparisons and by 15% on average. Its clients include institutional managers running systematic quantitative strategies, fundamental managers pursuing quantamental or long/short approaches, macro investors, and volatility traders, who access data via a real-time API/FTP or a front-end analytics platform. The company is based in Hong Kong, Aberdeen on Hong Kong Island, and was launched in 2011. In 2021, Estimize merged with ExtractAlpha, an alternative data provider, reflecting a consolidation of data offerings.
