Fair Wear Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, with 51-200 employees, serving the garment sector. It works with European garment companies to improve labour conditions in garment factories, anchored in the Code of Labour Practices. The organization verifies compliance at both company and factory levels and maintains a complaints procedure to enable workers to raise abuses, while publicly reporting progress each year through Brand Performance Checks. Its governance model brings together business associations, trade unions, and NGOs as equal partners; its more than 80 member companies represent over 120 brands with products sold in more than 20,000 retail outlets across 80 countries. In recent years, Fair Wear has updated its performance check methodology to align with OECD HRDD, launched partnerships with Zeeman, Kuyichi, and Schijvens with support from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency, and appointed Jyrki Raina as chair of its Board in 2025.
