Family Giving Tree is a Santa Clara, California-based nonprofit in the Individual and Family Services sector that supports Bay Area families facing financial hardship. It runs two annual drives—the Holiday Wish Drive to fulfill children’s exact holiday gift wishes, and the Back-to-School Drive to provide backpacks filled with school supplies for K-12 students in need. Since its inception in 1990, the organization has served more than two million people across the greater Bay Area. Its work relies on the contributions and efforts of donors, sponsors, volunteers, and drive leaders. The nonprofit began as a San Jose State MBA project and has grown into a well-established, community-focused organization. In 2024, longtime founder and CEO Jennifer Cullenbine announced she would retire at the end of the year. It coordinates large-scale drives and mobilizes volunteers to support families during holidays and the school year.
