Family Health Care Centers of Greater Los Angeles is a nonprofit organization operating as a federally qualified health center in the Hospitals and Health Care sector, serving low-income and marginalized residents in the Greater Los Angeles region. Founded in 1925 as The Mother's Clinic, it has delivered uninterrupted primary care for more than eight decades and earned its FQHC designation in 2008 in recognition of its comprehensive services for indigent and medically uninsured residents. The organization currently operates four facilities: Bell Gardens Family Medical Center, Hawaiian Gardens Health Center, Downey Family Health Center, and Montebello Family Health Center. In 2011, FHCCGLA provided care to over 10,000 patients through more than 35,000 visits. Based in Bell Gardens, California, the organization is small in scale but continues to expand services to new communities while upholding its legacy of compassionate service to all.
