Family Promise of Santa Clarita Valley is a local chapter of a national nonprofit with more than 25 years of history, based in Santa Clarita Valley, California. It coordinates a network of diverse congregations and volunteers to assist low-income homeless families, particularly children, by providing shelter, meals, and comprehensive support intended to address root causes of homelessness and help them reach transitional or permanent housing within about 90 days. During a family's stay, guests are housed and fed at host congregations, sleep on air mattresses, and access services at a day center, with transportation arranged between sites and school drop-off for children. The program operates year-round and serves a small number of families at once—typically three to four families or up to fourteen individuals. In 2022, a partnership involving Williams Homes and HomeAid Los Angeles led to plans for a new resource center on land at 23652 Newhall Ave, featuring an emergency overnight unit and four affordable housing units to provide housing and case management for families and pregnant women experiencing homelessness in the SCV.
