The Farmers Alley Theatre is an AEA (Actors' Equity Association) SPT (Small Professional Theatre). It is currently Southwest Michigan's only year-round professional, Equity Theatre. Farmers Alley is a 501(c)3 non-profit performance company dedicated to producing popular and high-quality works in the Downtown Kalamazoo area in a unique and intimate setting. We take pride in bringing in the best talent from across the US while also celebrating the Kalamazoo actor. We always aim to foster artistic and economic growth in the central city. Our Vision To establish ourselves as the leading small independent theatre organization in the region. To dedicate our venue as a place for home-grown artists to return to Kalamazoo in order to share their talent with us. Our Values Not Just Entertainment - Although we aim to please our audience, it is equally important to us to uphold the artistic integrity of the works performed. A Provider of Equal Opportunity - It is imperative that everyone has access to the theater at a reasonable price. Farmers Alley Theatre is a young company, but is establishing itself as Western Michigan's Premiere professional theatre. Several notable Broadway performers have traveled to work in our intimate 100 seat theatre including Barbara Marineau (Beauty and the Beast), Lauren Kennedy (Spamalot, Side Show), Michelle Duffy (Leap of Faith), Trey Ellett (Rent), Ann Sanders (Leap of Faith, Allegiance), Scott Coulter (renowned cabaret singer), Hannah Elless (Godspell, Bright Star), Ryan Vasquez (Wicked, Waitress) and Teri Bibb (Phantom of the Opera) to name a few.
