The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Office of Housing plays a vital role for the nation's homebuyers, homeowners, renters, and communities through its nationally administered programs.  The Office of Housing includes the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) one of the largest mortgage insurers in the world with an active insurance portfolio of over $1.7 trillion for mortgages on single family and multifamily properties and healthcare facilities. -Executes robust asset sale programs to facilitate participation by mission-oriented non-profit organizations and units of local government.
