The company operates from a corporate office in Valley City, with branch offices in Billings, Montana; Hastings, Nebraska; and Yakima, Washington, serving customers across 20 states and four Canadian provinces.

Since October 2006 FEI has operated as an Employee Stock Ownership Plan, with day-to-day operations directed by employee owners. In 2022, Jim Reddington was appointed vice president of the energy division.
