FEI, Inc. is a wholesale distributor based in Valley City, North Dakota, that began in 1978 in a closed gas station. It started by supplying fertilizer and chemical application and handling equipment and parts to the agriculture sector, and in 1981 constructed its current location; in 1987 it broadened its offering to include propane equipment, hearth products, and propane parts for propane dealers. The company operates from a corporate office in Valley City, with branch offices in Billings, Montana; Hastings, Nebraska; and Yakima, Washington, serving customers across 20 states and four Canadian provinces.

Since October 2006 FEI has operated as an Employee Stock Ownership Plan, with day-to-day operations directed by employee owners. In 2022, Jim Reddington was appointed vice president of the energy division.
