The Film Production Coalition at UC Santa Cruz is a student-driven program within the media production space that offers a collaborative environment for members to work in small groups to create polished short films. Over a ten-week term, participants explore every stage of the filmmaking process from ideation through pre-production, filming, and editing, culminating in an end-of-term film festival that showcases the group’s work. The program emphasizes hands-on experience and the development of professional connections that extend beyond the UCSC experience, inviting any student to participate. Based in Santa Cruz, California, the organization operates within a university setting and serves students seeking practical, team-based exposure to film production.
