First Book Canada is a non-profit organization focused on expanding access to quality education for children in Canada. It pursues this by removing barriers and leveling the playing field for kids in need, supported by a network of about 20,000 members whose input informs research and strategy. The organization provides free and low-cost books, resources, and access to experts in education, using its collective purchasing power to influence what is published or created for underserved communities.

Based in Toronto, Ontario, since 2009 First Book Canada has collaborated with educators and partners to identify barriers to learning and develop solutions. In 2023, it launched Little Locked Storyboxes, a program that places sets of children's books on neighborhood front lawns to engage local communities.
