Fleet Laboratories, a Prestige Consumer Healthcare Company, ranks among the top over-the-counter, non-prescription healthcare companies in the United States. Almost since its founding in 1869, the company has been a force to be reckoned with in the personal healthcare industry.

Fleet got its start in downtown Lynchburg, VA a century and a half ago. That’s  when Charles Browne Fleet opened C. B. Fleet Apothecary to address the health and beauty needs of local residents. It didn’t take long for the family business to begin a growth trajectory that has established it as a leader in the feminine hygiene, gastrointestinal care, and infant care markets. 

What started with one man and a vision has morphed into a multi-million dollar company with a host of well-known brands—Fleet, Summer’s Eve, Norforms, Phazyme, and Boudreaux’s among them. Over the years, it has earned—and kept—the confidence and loyalty of consumers and healthcare professionals around the world.

Fleet was privately owned for 146-years.  In October 2014 they were acquired by Gryphon Investors.  In December 2016, Prestige Brands Holdings, Inc. purchased Fleet.   Largely unencumbered by corporate bureaucracy, the company has remained innovative, entrepreneurial, and hands-on, characteristics far more typical of much smaller businesses.
