The Florida High Tech Corridor is a nonprofit organization based in Orlando, Florida, established to accelerate the growth of high-tech industries across a 23-county region. It leverages collaboration among three major research institutions—University of Central Florida, University of South Florida, and the University of Florida—to align opportunities, funding, and resources in academia, industry, and economic development, with the aim of generating broad regional impact. The organization supports a range of industry clusters, including aerospace, agritechnology, energy and environmental sciences, financial technology, gaming and e-sports, information technology, life sciences, microelectronics and sensors, modeling and simulation, and optics, among others. It operates a program network that includes applied research partnerships through the Matching Grants Research Program and initiatives to foster women entrepreneurs pursuing SBIR Catalyst Prize grants, while also leading Cenfluence, Central Florida’s cluster initiative. Based in Orlando, the Corridor focuses on seed funding, grants, and education to advance innovation, train STEM professionals, and promote regional economic diversification beyond tourism. In recent years, it has announced collaborations and leadership changes to support its expanding ecosystem, such as forming partnerships to broaden its innovation footprint and launching Cenfluence to diversify the regional economy.
