Foothill Municipal Water District (FMWD) is a Special District Water Wholesaler that was incorporated in 1952 and became a member agency of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California in 1953.  FMWD covers approximately 22 square miles in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains and serves approximately 86,000 in its service area which includes La Crescenta, La Canada and Altadena.  FMWD has eight member agencies.

FMWD is a small District with approximately 10 employees and is fortunate to have employees that are driven to succeed, personable and caring.  FMWD is governed by a five-member Board of Directors.
