Black-owned niche Fortress Construction is a 100% Black-owned female-led construction firm with a regional focus and a compact team, presenting a potential partner for D&I preferred projects and agile collaboration on smaller or fast-turnaround builds.

Niche positioning Established in 2014 by Nontobeko Majola, the company emphasizes clear communication and a client-first process, which can be leveraged to win projects that prize transparency, risk management, and strong project governance.

Scale fit With a small employee base and revenue under one million, Fortress is well-suited for subcontracting opportunities, fast-track scopes, and entry-level programs where larger firms may not engage due to overhead but where a focused team can deliver efficiently.

Growth potential Potential sales plays include partnering for joint bids on mid-size projects, leveraging its “assured experience” claim to differentiate in proposals, and targeting clients seeking reliability and close client communication.

Market alignment Target client segments that value governance and communication, and explore affiliations or certifications that bolster credibility for collaborations with larger firms or public-sector opportunities.
