The Foundation for International Understanding Through Students, or FIUTS, has been promoting intercultural exchange and global student leadership in the Puget Sound Region for more than 78 years. Founded on the University of Washington campus in 1948, FIUTS advances international understanding through cross-cultural experiences, student leadership, and community connections. Our programs include international student welcome programs, short-term community homestays, social and intercultural activities, leadership training, and K-12 education outreach. We work with international and American students at colleges and universities across the Puget Sound region, and welcome visiting groups of emerging leaders from around the world.
