Freeman Health System is a not-for-profit network of hospitals and clinics serving the Joplin, Missouri area. It comprises Freeman Hospital West and Freeman Hospital East, Freeman Neosho Hospital, and Ozark Center, the area’s largest provider of behavioral health services, along with two urgent care clinics and numerous physician practices. The system delivers a broad range of medical services, including cancer care, heart and vascular care, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopaedics, children’s services, and women’s health, supported by more than 300 physicians. In 2026, Freeman expanded into Arkansas with the acquisition of four hospitals, marking its first expansion into that state and aligning with a regional growth strategy to broaden access to community-focused care. The network is also the only Children’s Miracle Network Hospital within a 70-mile radius, reflecting its role in pediatric services in the region.
