The Geospatial Information & Technology Association, founded in 1982, provides unbiased, world-class information on geospatial technologies through its conferences, seminars, chapter events, webcasts, forums, and publications. 

We have a rich, celebrated history mirroring the rapid, early growth of our profession. Our leaders have served at GIS's pinnacle, and we thank all of them for their energy and commitment to GITA over many years. 

Our association has four pillars: Mentoring, Education, Recognition, and Scholarship. We operate on the foundations of Leadership and Diversity. As of October 2021, GITA operates in partnership with a national nonprofit fiscal sponsor.
