Friends of the Riverfront is an environmental services organization based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, founded in 1991, focused on protecting and restoring the region’s rivers and riverfronts. The group coordinates and sustains the Three Rivers Heritage Trail, a network of more than 34 miles of urban riverfront paths along the Allegheny, Monongahela, and Ohio rivers, with the aim of delivering environmental restoration, economic vitality, and public health benefits to the Pittsburgh area. Through broad collaborations with municipalities and other partners, it works on maintenance, amenities, promotion, and expansion of riverfront and water trail infrastructure.
