Friends School is a private, independent school serving preschool through middle school in Boulder, Colorado. It emphasizes a holistic approach to education that supports intellectual growth, creativity, and personal development through a blend of hands-on exploration and direct instruction. Small class sizes and a low student-to-teacher ratio foster individualized learning, with secure facilities and outdoor learning spaces on a three-acre campus that includes a preschool facility in a remodeled house and an elementary building. Founded in 1987 by a group of parents, the school is based in Boulder. It operates a teacher-preparation program that leads to Colorado licensure and a Master’s degree in education, and the middle school opened on a second campus in North Boulder in 2016.
