Rooted in Quaker heritage, Friendsview carries forward a tradition that began with Friends’ pioneering work in senior care more than a century ago. Inspired by that legacy, local Friends opened our doors in 1961 under the leadership of Charles Beals, establishing Oregon’s only privately owned, not-for-profit Type A Life Plan Community. For over six decades, strong local governance has kept us financially sound while we honor our founding mission through intergenerational ties to George Fox University, robust educational and cultural programs, and an unwavering commitment to excellence, compassion, and resident-centered care.
