FTD Educação operates in the book and periodical publishing space with a focus on educational content in Brazil. Its origins lie in 1902, when the Marist Brothers who ran schools began developing teaching materials that became the earliest FTD book series. The name commemorates Frère Théophane Durand, who headed the Marist Congregation from 1883 to 1907.
