The German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern U.S., Inc. (GACC South) is a private, non-profit organization that represents German industry and trade in the Southern United States. Founded in 1978 and headquartered in Atlanta, it promotes bilateral trade and helps companies pursue cross-border opportunities. It serves eleven Southern states—Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas—plus Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, supported by a Houston branch and a network of local chapters and regional affiliates. Within this structure, GACC South acts as the official representative of German industry and trade in the Southern U.S. and is part of a global network comprising around 150 German foreign chambers and government offices in 95 countries. In 2020, Matthias Hoffmann was appointed President and CEO.
