Garland C. Norris Company is a wholesale distributor based in Apex, North Carolina, with roots dating to 1904 when founder Garland C. Norris began by distributing tobacco from a mule-drawn wagon. It expanded over the years to include confections and beverages, and in the 1930s moved into paper disposables, becoming the exclusive distributor of Dixie Cups for North Carolina and helping introduce paper disposables to the region. The business increasingly focused on food service disposables, janitorial and cleaning supplies, and related maintenance items, serving distributors across North and South Carolina, southern Virginia, and parts of Tennessee and Georgia, and positioning itself as a Carolinas based wholesaler that sells exclusively to distributors. In 2014 Garland C. Norris Company was acquired by S.P. Richards Company but continued operating as a standalone, family-managed entity. The company expanded its footprint in 2015 with a new distribution warehouse in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2019 Southeastern Paper Group announced it would acquire Garland C. Norris Co., marking the latest change in ownership.
