Genesee Country Village & Museum is a mid-sized cultural institution operating a living history museum across more than 600 acres in Mumford, New York, about 20 miles from Rochester, and it ranks as one of the largest of its kind in the country. Since opening to the public in 1976, the site presents an authentic 19th-century village with relocated and restored homes, farms, shops, and other public buildings brought to life by costumed historians.
