Our novel methodology finds gene-environment interactions with orders of magnitude greater statistical power than was previously possible, enabling accurate predictions about how individuals will respond to a drug, based on their genetics. 

Some applications:

Drug Repositioning - Identify genetically-defined patient subgroups who respond differently to drugs, opening up new indications for existing drugs and extending their patent protection. 

Drug approvals - For new compounds that fail phase 2 or phase 3 clinical trials due to insufficiently broad efficacy or adverse effects: we can develop a test that reliably predicts which genetically-defined patient subgroups are likely to experience high efficacy without adverse effects. This opens up the possibility of regulatory approval for the drug in combination with the test.

Clinical trial optimization - by utilizing interim data from clinical trials, we can perform functional interrogation of the pharmacodynamics of the molecule, potentially predicting drug interactions and providing insights into pharmacokinetics and delivery that can be utilized to modify the current trial, if necessary, and to inform the design of subsequent trials for the molecule.

Drug Response Prediction  - Deliver significant cost savings for payers by decreasing prescriptions for drugs that patients won’t respond to, and recommending drugs most likely to be beneficial.

Oncology - Utilize tumor and patient genomes simultaneously to select therapeutic agents most likely to produce a strong response with minimal side effect.
