Genvia is a mid-sized French company in renewable energy equipment manufacturing, based in Béziers in the Occitanie region. It was founded in 2021 as a joint venture by SLB, the CEA, Vicat, Vinci, and the Occitanie / Midi-Pyrénées Region via ARIS. The company aims to industrialize high-temperature electrolyzers to enable mass production of carbon-free hydrogen, a move described as a first in France, with the goal of supporting carbon neutrality objectives for industry by 2050. Its work focuses on helping essential, CO2-emitting industrial sites transition to decarbonized operations on a global scale. In May 2026, Vicat Group partnered with Genvia and EDF to deploy a 1 MWe high-temperature electrolyzer at the Montalieu-Vercieu site in Isère to produce about 600 kg of hydrogen daily, as part of the ADEME IDH2 project.
