The Girl Scouts of Manitou Council is a non-profit organization serving girls along the Lake Michigan western shoreline. It is the region's largest organization devoted to serving girls, reaching about 4,000 participants in parts of seven counties: Calumet, Dodge, Fond du Lac, Manitowoc, Ozaukee, Sheboygan, and Washington. A substantial share of elementary-age members continue with Girl Scouting through middle and high school years, supported by more than 1,300 adult volunteers. The council maintains a website at gsmanitou.org. The organization is based in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. In April 2026, it announced that long-time CEO Denise Schemenauer will retire on August 1, 2026, after 35 years in the role.
